Come on Durant! We have the potential!

Maybe a few round barrel cones and a red rope with arrows hanging from it. Doesn't have to be expensive and permanent to start; just effective. Again, thanks to the durant police department for being on site at every school to ensure the children's safety.

I know I was stuck longer, it's etched in my brain, hot summer day, no wind, all windows down.... i literally parked in the road, and got my daughter, the guy behind me, and myself a snowcone. Still took over 10 minutes to get moving after i got to the car. And me being me, I let the poor Lady leaving the dentist office out. I'd had the planned for nearly an hour. (I probably should have got her a snowcone too, but she peeled out in front of me and nearly hit the guy on front of me. Naturally, I felt no more guilt.

Wow? The traffic is terrible, people yelling, cussing, threatening in front of kids to whoop that other guy. Over 30 minutes to get through. I wasn't mad, just wanted to know how long this would go on.

Thanks again Ms. Lawrence!!! Ms. Webster is by far the most important person who broke me out of my shell.

-sighs-

(Sorry,.I drive by all the bad spots every day. Fortunately I'm not in the struggle. NW Heights! ( the could still add more road for those going to the pre-k building, or headstart, whichever that long single file slow line that stretches, realistically, nearly a dozen blocks if it they would lengthen, or at least whip back so twice as many cars could follow it on a marked gravel road until they can have asphalt poured...

Now that all the ugly opinion I'm willing to give is over, I would like to say, there are some of the most exceptional staff members in that school. I walked those halls, and made my mark. Especially with how outspoken I am. I'm sure if some of wonderfully patient teachers I had were still there, they'd remember me by something I'd said, and remained indignant until my last day of six grade.

Before anyone feels im being naive don't understand everything; I don't need the details. People get mad when they are having problems that they have no control over. That raises the risk of accidents. Kids trying to walk home, when parents acting their shoe sizes instead of like adults by not looking out for children, hit kids, hit cars to avoid hitting kids, and even jumping off road, or across the entire street from lack of attention.

So... what more could be said. It's a great school.. keep bus drivers employed and have your kids ride the bus.. or, we could fix the route?!

The oldest kids could wait in the field for Parents to pick up their children too. I guarantee you could cut back on close accidents, not to mention angry parents speeding off after getting their child, endangering the rest of the people, all of which wants to wake up and see their family every morning..... my ideas are my honest irritations, not saying put it in stone, I'm not your engineer, nor am I an engineer. Just a parent who only has his daughter; meaning, I feel like officers controlling traffic and squad cars, somewhere, hoping to catch those endangering the rest.

So, why can't Waco st be the drop-off and pick up place? It's a wide street! Yellow barracades, split the students by grade down the road, and/or across the street for the older ones. Its still school property! Convert that parking lot into a path to take. Keep it simple, like a drive-thru.
